Mission

The International Studies program develops an appreciation for the diversity of political, economic, and social systems in the world through an interdisciplinary curriculum centered on the social sciences and humanities.  In addition to the study of a specific language along with coursework in history, political science, and economics. Students expand their understanding of the world by studying abroad in a country connected to their chosen language of study. International Studies graduates are prepared to enter any career that values self-discipline, critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in their native language and a second language.
