Description

This course explores topics of historical or contemporary interest specific to Spain through the reading of a variety of literary texts. Students will read, analyze and discuss literature from pre-Roman to the 21st century to garner a better understand of Spanish identity, to explore cultural themes and historical issues that have shaped Spain and to examine how literature reflects everyday life. Students will read a representative selection of major literary works from the time periods selected by the instructor. Courses numbered SP 360 Topics in Spanish Literature may be repeated up to 4 times for credit when offered as different topics. 3 Lecture hours. Taught in Spanish. Satisfies Gen Ed Goal 3 Arts and Humanities. Prerequisite: SP 301 or NU Placement Test score of 536 or higher or Instructor Permission. Offered: Fall.
