Description
Students will learn how to conduct surveys, interviews and focus groups; as well as connect the various parts of a research study including summarizing relevant literature, developing a research question or hypothesis and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data gathered via one or more of the methods mentioned above. Students will delve deeper into specific methodologies cursorily introduced in the prerequisite course CRIM 209. This course provides a bridge between CRIM 209 and CRIM 410. The course will also focus on scholarly, scientific writing, understanding, producing and give students practice in conducting ethical research prior to conducting a real study in CRIM 410. Prerequisite: Grade of C or higher in CRIM 209 or CJ 209 or SOCI 209, or Permission of Instructor. Offered: Annually.
