Description
This course introduces students to essential software applications used in contemporary architecture and design practice, focusing on 2D and 3D modeling, building information modeling (BIM) and parametric design. Through practical exercises and case studies, students will develop proficiency in industry-standard software enabling them to solve design challenges and effectively communicate design intent. Topics include Introductory Digital Modeling, Building Information Modeling and Parametric Design/Procedural Modeling. Supplemental materials explore the intersection of technology and architecture. By the course's end, students will possess a foundational skill set to create and manipulate 3D models, BIMs and parametric designs vital to modern architectural practice. Prerequisite: AP 118. Grade of C or higher.
