Admission Criteria

There are no additional criteria to declare this major.

Accelerated Master's Pathway into the Master of Science in Criminology.

A student will typically self-identify or be invited by an advisor/professor at the beginning of either the freshmen or sophomore year [13-27 credit hours] after fall semester grades are posted.

A letter of intent, two letters of recommendation from faculty, and a resume must be submitted, typically by the beginning of the student’s sophomore or junior year [27-57 credit hours]. Eligible candidates are considered when a cumulative GPA of 2.75 is achieved in addition to submitted materials. Admission into the graduate program requires a cumulative GPA of 2.5.

Accelerate Master's Pathway Courses

Enroll into CRIM 515 and CRIM 530 to replace CRIM 316 and CRIM 410 respectively. Both CRIM 515 and CRIM 530 will only meet graduate program requirements when a grade of B or higher is earned.

The student accepted to participate in the accelerated master’s track will have a guaranteed seat within the Criminology Master’s program when the admission criteria is met.
