Technology System Offerings at Norwich University

Norwich University (NU) provides a robust and secure technology infrastructure designed to support students and faculty. All students and faculty are provisioned with university-managed email accounts and cloud-based storage solutions to facilitate secure communication and collaboration. The university offers a modern learning management system (LMS) for course delivery and virtual meeting platforms for synchronous and asynchronous interactions. Students and faculty have access to specialized software applications using a variety of methods. Additionally, NU ensures high cybersecurity standards by enforcing multi-factor authentication (MFA), regular security training, and continuous system monitoring to safeguard sensitive data.

Public student computing labs are located in Partridge Hall, Cabot Hall, Kreitzberg Library, and Schneider Hall. The student computer labs are hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud and are accessible by thin clients. The virtual labs are configured with common software and program-specific applications are also available.

 Technology Support Staffing

The Information Technology Services (ITS) department provides comprehensive technology support to ensure seamless access to academic and administrative resources. The ITS Service Desk offers 8x5 support with on-call support provided after business hours and on the weekends until 10pm. ITS professional staff assists with technical issues, account management, and troubleshooting. Dedicated instructional technology specialists support faculty with integrating educational technology into their curriculum, including the LMS, video conferencing tools, and simulation software. Additionally, specialized IT staff oversee system administration, cybersecurity, and compliance, ensuring a secure and stable user environment.
