Description

This course explores topics of socio historical or contemporary interest specific to Latin America through the examination of Latin American culture from pre-Columbian times to the 21st century. Students will garner a better understanding of Latin American identity explore cultural themes and historical issues that have shaped Latin America, and examine how culture reflects everyday life. Students will examine a representative selection of works from a time period selected by the instructor. Courses numbered SP 364 Topics in Latin American Culture may be repeated for credit up to four times when offered as different topics. 3 Lecture hours. Taught in Spanish. Prerequisite: SP 301 or NU placement Test score of 536 or higher. Offered: Fall.
