Description
Students will explore distictions between what is right and wrong, good and bad and criminal and non-criminal and delves into the grey zones between these boundaries. In other words, deviance examines the broad scope of such divisions as a set of social processes involving social dynamics and influences. Students will learn a sociological understanding of deviance and examine many of the major categories such as criminal, lifestyle and status deviance. Prerequisite: SO 201 or CRIM 101 or Permission of Instructor. Offered: Fall.
