Description
Introduces two of the largest expenses for individuals during their lifetimes: retirement and education. Both pursuits require extensive planning by considering the circumstances and objectives of the client, as well as relevant tax implications and other pertinent regulations. Before recommending applicable solutions and strategies, students will explore the Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs, along with the various types of Individual Retirement Arrangements (IRAs). Students will identify education savings vehicles to determine the most advantageous education planning resources. Encourages adoption of the financial planning process and applies subject-matter knowledge to client recommendations and relationships. Prerequisite: MNGT 451. Grade of C or better. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
