Stats for STEM
Description
This course introduces advanced statistical techniques used in STEM research and applications. The course starts with basic inferential methods for the mean and proportion, such as the t-test, and then explore additional topics including accuracy measures of screening tests, relative risk and odds ratio, chi-square tests, ANOVA, nonparametric tests, multiple and logistic regression, and survival analysis. Emphasis is placed on applying these methods to real data and using statistical software to generate and interpret results. Prerequisite: Placement into MA 107 or MA 232 or MATO 2 or higher. Offered: Fall.
