Description

The course applies the knowledge gained in previous courses, to work on a capstone design project including interactions with customers and stakeholders. This course focuses on the problem statement, specification, preliminary design, design review, and approval stages of the design processes; the design process involves exploring alternate solutions and design optimization and simulation. Economic constraints and human factors are also considered in the design process. The course is the first in a two semester sequence. The course requires nine hours of directed reading, research, and experimentation per week. Prerequisite: Grade of D-, or higher in one of: CE 444, CE 419, CE 422, CE 442, EE 366, ME 370. Offered: Fall.
